Shinto Buddhist Monk

Posted by Jacob (Tokyo, Japan) on 28 March 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture.

This statue resides outside of a small but famous Shinto Buddhist shrine in Kyoto, Japan. The statue was erected in remembrance of the monk who rebuilt the shrine and tended to it daily. The elements and acid rain streamed this monk's face with tear stains.
