This stump really impressed me. The cross is carved out of the wood, and it seamlessness lends an organic quality to the carving, as if the cross were growing from the dead tree. The texture of the cross matches exactly the texture of the stump's aging bark. This theme of death and life was fitting for the cemetery, so I shot it.
